About the WebCart® Site Builder Module

7 steps in 60 minutes is all it takes to set up your online storefront. We've made it easy by walking you through the process step-by-step. Below are general descriptions of each step. Give us some feedback if you have more questions.

Once you've set up your store with the 7 main Site Builder Tools, then you have to run your business and make some money. To help you with that, we've created the other 2 modules of the WebCart system:

  • SitePromoter [Click to learn more]
  • SiteAnalyzer [Click to learn more].

Take all 3 modules for a test drive to see how this complete integrated online sales solution can help ignite your web success.

    Tool #1: DesignManager:
Pick a design (i.e. look and feel) for your site.
    • Preconfigured standard designs: You can choose from some standard designs that we have created for you and which can be applied to almost any industry. Here are some sample designs to preview.
    • Your own design: If you want to use your own design, then you can use our "Custom Templates" area to integrate your pages into WebCart.
    • A custom design: If you would like us to create a custom design for you, then click here for more information.

    Tool #2: ContactManager:
Fill in your store contact details one time.
    • You only have to type in this information one time including things like your phone/fax number, main email address and your mailing address. Using WebCart's SmartTags you can insert this information anywhere in your web site without having to retype the information. This way, if any of your contact information changes, you just make one change and it instantly shows up on all your web pages where you have used a SmartTag.

    Tool #3: PageManager:
Select web pages to include in your site.
    • Prebuilt pages: We've taken the liberty of thinking ahead and preparing some classic web pages with prewritten mostly generic content. All you need to do is to pick from a list which pages you would like to include in your site and then just edit the content to personalize each page for your business.
      Some examples include:
AboutOurStore, FAQs (frequently asked questions), HowtoOrder, OurGuarantee, ContactUs, GiftOrders.
    • New custom pages: If you want to add "new" pages, that is easy too and you can use WebCart's "PageBuilder" area to create new content pages that can be easily added into your store. And what's cool is that the PageBuilder includes an optional online editor so you don't even need to know HTML. It looks just like a traditional text editor (like MS Word) and includes features like bold, italics, underline and font colors plus dozens of other tools.

    Tool #4: ProductManager:
    Add products to your store.
    • Add products one at a time or upload a file with all your product information
    • Define one or more categories to match up to each product.
    • Add in product fields like SKU, short and long description, image, retail price, sale price, shipping costs, product coupons, related products for upselling.
    • Set inventory levels or turn off inventory tracking and back ordering capability.
    • You can also add "multiple keywords" to each product to enable people on your site to "search for your products" by more than just title, category, price and description. This is a great tool for search engine optimization too because it helps search engines to drive more traffic to your site.
    • One of the coolest things about working with products in WebCart is that you can define a different look and feel for displaying each product page on your web site. So you are not limited to one global design and this means you can display products in a more personalized manner.

    Tool #5: ImageManager:
Add a logo and other images to your store.
    • Here is where you can upload images to your store. Again, you don't even have to know how to use an ftp (file transfer protocol) program to put images into your store. Everything is menu based and simple to follow. Of course for advanced users, we provide ftp access to transfer images in batches.

    Tool #6: OrderManager:
Configure the "Product display & order process"
    • How you feature products on the home page and other pages of the site.
    • What happens when a user clicks a category (ie. how is the list of results displayed)
    • What happens when user clicks on a specific product? How do you want the actual product page to be displayed including all the product details? What will the addtocart button look like and where will it be displayed?
    • What does the view cart contents page look like? Will you display a toll-free number for phone ordering? How about a guarantee?
    • What fields will you require on the checkout form? Will you send out gift cards? Will you accept coupons?

    Tool #7: SettingsManager:
Adjust primary store settings and launch your store.
    • Inventory tracking. This features also includes back ordering capability.
    • Payment options. What payments will you accept including credit cards, checks, paypal and gift certificates. If you want to accept credit card payments online in real time, we've made it very easy for you by integrating 3 of the largest payment processors in the USA including Linkpoint, Authorize.net, and Verisign.com. You can get more information here on how to sign up for a "gateway account".
    • Shipping fees. You can set up shipping fees based on the total order amount, or on the number of products purchased, or for each individual product. Plus, you can set up fees for UPS, USPS or Fedex.
    • Handling and Packaging fees. If you want to charge for gift wrapping or handling, you can set them up by product or by order amount. Lots of flexibility here.
    • Taxes. You can set tax rates by state or even by city.
