Criteria For Shopping Cart Software - Wizards To Get The Job Done - Part 3 -

In the final series of posts about WebCart’s Wizard, I will try to give a brief overview of some of the effortless tools we have added to WebCart to make the webmasters life easier. The way I look at it is simple, you’re paying for a shopping cart solution with your hard earned cash The reason you are paying for it is because you don’t want to do it your self. What good is a shopping cart if you have to spend hundreds of dollars buying mods, or worse paying someone to configure your cart once you purchased it?

Let’s See What the criteria for shopping cart software is all about

Step 6
Configuration:
This by far is the easiest to use module. You know how with osCommerce, if you don’t want to edit your header file you could just upload a logo with the filename logo.gif  images directory and by doing so you will override the default osCommerce logo. If you didn’t know that now you know how to change your logo with OS commerce. With WebCart it becomes even simpler because all you have to do is click on step 6 and upload your logo. That’s it no ftp or editing everything you need is inside your wizard.

Step 7
Marketing:
What good is your store if you don’t have a marketing plan? The good news is developers of WebCart were very conscious about having marking become an integral park of the cart  therefore, with every version of WebCart 11 users can utilize the affiliates, discounts, and gift certificate module to market their online stores. Step 7 in the wizard makes marketing even easier because it lays everything out in a simple and straight forward way making what used to take hours, now take only 10 min.

Step 8
Bulk Upload:
Here is a really nifty tool I developed for products and categories. Say for example, you have thousands of different products available for sale. With osCommerce you have to manually type in each product and each category. However, with the new WebCart wizard, the entire process of uploading your products and categories, should take less then 10 min.

Step 9
Email Confirmation Set Up:
The final step of the wizard is to write every possible email you might want to send your customers. The easy intuitive interface of step 9 makes writing your email a breeze and smart tags (which I will explain in a later post) make customization easy, so that all your emails are personalized to every user.

Criteria For Shopping Cart Software - Wizards To Get The Job Done - Part 2

Continuing from the previous shopping cart post I will describe the benefits of using the WebCart wizard, and how anyone with a computer can fully manage an online store.

Step 2
Contact Information:
In this section you can enter all your contact information so that WebCart will know where to send emails notifications about orders, and other online related communications. When I told you this is going to be effortless I was not lying.

Step 3
Content Pages:
This area gives you the freedom of adding an unlimited amount of pages in to your shopping cart. What’s really cool about this feature is it allows you to add any new static page like about us, contact or articles to your  store. When you decide to add new pages on new features you would do it though step 3 of the wizard configuration panel.

Step 4:
Add Products:
The backbone of any online store it’s ability to sell products online. The wizard makes adding products a breeze by using the tool found in step 4. The way we tested this feature was kind of funny. My 9 year old daughter was asked to add her toys in to the shopping cart. My wife and I left the room for about 10 mintues, upon our return my daughter  had already added 5 toys. It may seem funny, but if she can add her toys in to WebCart then anyone who knows how to read and type can!

In the next post I will conclude the wizard with introductions on the look and feel, advanced configurations, marketing your store and uploading bulk data.

Criteria For Shopping Cart Software - Wizards To Get The Job Done - Part 1

The setting up of a shopping cart usually consists of either having to spend hours reading the manual or an easy setup wizard that guides you through the process. The developers at WebCart analyzed many different shopping carts. From each of these studied carts we took the trouble-free features and incorporated then in to WebCart.

“Features and wizards” you might be asking your self what this is all about? Before we get ahead of ourselves let me explain how this shopping cart thing works. Once WebCart is purchased, a team member will install your shopping cart on a server of your choosing. Once the installation is complete you will be given access to an administration panel where you can begin configuring your store. WebCart has a nine step wizard panel to get you up and running with little or no effort. I will be going  though each of these steps and explain what they can do for you store.

Step 1 Select Skin

The first Step to creating your online store is selecting the look and feel. Many small online business’ are not able to afford hiring a web design company to design there shopping cart. Which is why WebCart comes pre-built with  a number of professionally built templates which are available in all 3 versions of webcart 11.

In the next post I will continue describing the remaining eight steps of the wizard.

We are right around the corner from the holiday that most Americans wait for all year. Yes, Christmas is only a few months away and once again the web is predicted to be a considerable source of holiday spending. Online merchants are tuning up their stores and scrambling to add new products to their catalog in order to satisfy the demand of Christmas shoppers. Many WebCart clients have been asking us what the best method would be in order to connect with their online customers to get feedback on what products they would like to purchase this holiday season.

WebCart developed a state of the art survey module that adds to the criteria of shopping cart software. The module includes an unlimited amount of surveys, unlimited responses, advanced analytics, and a fully integrated private label front end. These are just a few of the many futures which are available in the survey module.

The WebCart team is and has been listing to every request we receive from our customers. The survey module is just a small extra we added to our software in order to make it the best shopping cart in the world. If you have any suggestions or questions please feel free to comment this post.
