Giving the HP LaserJet 2420 printer using HP 2420 toner its due is easy enough after only a few minutes spent considering this Hewlett-Packard LaserJet monochrome printer and all it is capable of. HP seems to have designed this particular printer to assist those who need excellent print speed and quality to go with a relatively low price, which the 2420 offers in spades.

For the most part, one might want to consider the 2420 as being a suitable workhorse printer for a networked workgroup or small office environment. It can handle almost all of its print tasks with little trouble and seems to be one of the stronger printers in this segment of the market. It can print 30 pages per minute, also pleasing most any business person needing good productivity across the board.

Additionally, the HP LaserJet compatible toner also delivers a very nice end product, meaning that the quality of the printed material will be excellent across the board. With a 1,200 x 1,200 dots-per-inch print resolution, there'll be little complaint from any users or from the people who end up having to read or view anything printed by this device. HP is justifiably known for its print resolution, by the way.

Much of this is owed to HP's proprietary image enhancement technology software, which the company dubs Hi ProRes 1200 in this model. It's all managed via an interior included microprocessor that works at 400 MHz, which is all the printer needs to take advantage of the 32 MB of RAM included onboard as well. This means all print jobs will be assessed, produced and displayed very quickly.

As far as ease of connectivity, this device can be joined to a computer or to a workgroup by means of either a parallel port or a high-speed USB connection. Keep in mind that Hewlett-Packard does not supply USB cables with its printers, so if one hasn't already been purchased consider selecting a nice cable to go with the printer while still in the store.

In terms of what the LaserJet 2420 can print out on, it's the case that just about any sort of paper stock or media type including transparencies, envelopes, bond paper or even recycled paper can be ran through the machine. Many other printers can't make this claim, as well as being unable to claim that they can hold up to 350 sheets of paper on board. You will find that 250 of those sheets fit into a single auto load input tray, by the way.

This HP model is able to make use of several different Windows operating systems, as well as being compatible with Mac OS 9.X and 10.X OSs. It will even take on Windows 98, which is an operating system that is about 13 years old nowadays. Given that, no user should have much of any concern about being able to connect this printer to whatever operating system he or she happens to be running.
